..2013..

We rang in 2013 with some great friends and a rodeo! What could be better than that? :)
Gabe, Cade and I went to Bull Wars at Golden Spike and met up with some great friends later that night. I wish I would have taken some pictures but I was too busy playing Pictionary.

On New Years Day my family came up to our house and we spent the day sledding! Charlotte didn't want to be bothered with anything besides eating snow. And feeding me snow.
This -16 degree weather has been going on for far too long! I think the news said this has been the coldest winter in like 10 years. There were several days in a row where it didn't warm up above 0. But luckily, I think that has passed for the most part! Bring on Spring!!

Christmas 2012

Whoaaaaaa. How is it already the middle of February? I have been terrible at keeping up with my blog :/ Hopefully I will change that and start doing better! Here's to hoping.

Christmas has come and gone once again and we had such a great holiday! Here is what our Christmas looked like....
We spent Christmas morning with my parents and little brother. We all got SOOOO spoiled!
Thanks Santa ;)
(YAY! He has a wedding ring again!!!!)
My dad surprised my mom with an Iphone and her reaction was. so. awesome!
She cried like a baby :)
Love going to Temple Square during the Christmas season!
and we also went on a hay ride through the Layton Park to see the lights!

A Phone Nook Make-Over

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love our home. The house was originally built in 1909 but has obviously had some major makeovers/renovations since then. When we bought it last year it had new windows, carpet, plumbing, electrical, water heater, etc. But, the only thing that hadn't been updated was the kitchen. Picture an old fashioned 50's style kitchen with all white walls and hideous blue flower wallpaper at the top. Oh, and not to mention the speckled white (and majorly yellowed) linoleum counter tops. I saw potential, I just needed to figure out what I had planned for it. After an entire year (embarrassing) I finally picked my colors and got to work. I painted the biggest wall turquoise and the other walls are going to be a pretty beige color. Pictures coming soon!
We have this old school "phone nook" in the middle of the wall and I hated it. I guess it's not that bad except for the fact that the bathroom is on the other side of the wall and when the previous owners hung the bathroom mirror the screws came right threw in the center of this nook. Tacky? Yes. So I always had to have something to hide it. I finally got sick of looking at it and put my handy husband to work! I really do love the way it turned out and can't wait to get the rest of the kitchen into the 21st century :)
(all the pictures were taken with my phone so I apologize for the bad quality!)

Giving Thanks 2012

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! My mother-in-law rented out a condo at Moose Hollow in Wolf Creek and it was so great. Gabes sisters & their families were all there along with our 11 nieces & nephews. Uncle Gabe was the main source of entertainment for the kids and he couldn't have been happier about it.

anyone else see a pattern here? ha ha I think this guy is more than ready to be a daddy.
We made some cute little handprint snowmen ornaments
We played some Minute-to-Win-It games and it was SO fun!
The how-many-skittles-can-you-suck-up-and-set-on-top-of-the-other-straws-in-a-minute game.
 The Can-you-get-the-red-pompom-on-a-string-up-on-your-vaseline-covered-nose-in-a-minute game.
 The see-who-can-shake-out-six-ping-pong-balls-from-a-kleenex-box-the-fastest game.
&
  The see-how-many-marshmallows-you-can-get-through-the-wreath-and-into-the-bucket-in-a-minute game.
After the games were all over & done with we opened up the traditional Thanksgiving pajamas...
We also got to celebrate Kendall & Lorelei's birthdays!
(aren't they such cute little girls?!)
and we ended the night with a little
Just Dance.

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving as well!
