Camping trip to Fish Lake

Last weekend we decided to pack up our stuff and the pups and go for a little campin trip. We headed down to beautiful Fish Lake early Friday morning (Sage and I slept the entire way, sorry babe.)

We drove around for a bit trying to find the perfect spot which proved difficult because some people are not polite campers. If you are the last one leaving the camp spot- Clean up after yourself!
Once we found a cute little spot in the middle of some pretty aspen trees we got to work setting up camp. Gabes parents bought us this awesome spring bar tent last summer and this was the first time we got to use it. Its SOOO nice! Thanks Tony and Michelle! :)

The rest of the first day we spent driving around looking at the beautiful scenery. We drove into the little town of Loa about 20 miles away. I wish every day could be like that.... getting to spend every minute with the Mr. ♥

We made some delicious dutch oven pizza for dinner that night!

These 2 just make me smile :)

We hung out by the campfire the rest of the night. I ate ONE marshmallow and we went to bed. About 20 minutes after we laid down I started to feel really sick. I told Gabe I wasn't feeling well and he immediately told me to relax and start taking deep breaths. ( Most times I get sick and nauseous, I end up sick as a dog and a few times in the Emergency Room. So he's had too much experience with me being sick. Again, sorry babe :/) Apparently being a Type 1 diabetic and eating that dang marshmallow wasn't a great idea. My body just isn't used to that much concentrated sugar. Gabe could clearly tell I was getting worse so he gave me a blessing.
*Here is where I get to brag as a wife*
I wont go into too much detail about me being sick... It was awful. And being sick in the middle of the mountains... with no bathroom... isn't ideal. You can use your imaginations. After most of the sickness had passed, I was pretty out of it. Gabe wrapped me up in a warm blanket by the fire and I honestly don't remember much after that. He carried me back into the tent and tucked me into the sleeping bag. I was shaking pretty bad (does anyone else do that when they get sick?) so he took our beach towels and warmed them up and wrapped them around all sides of me to keep me nice and toasty. It was a cold night. I eventually fell asleep. When I finally woke up it was about 4 or 5 in the morning. Gabe was awake and gave me a kiss. I was still out of it a little bit but I knew I was feeling better. He asked me if he could get into the blankets with me and I sat up to see him laying next to me, outside of the sleeping bag- in his coat. He could tell I was confused and said he wanted me to be warm and explained that he had been up all night so that he could test my blood sugar every hour to make sure I was okay. I was all wrapped up and warm while he stayed awake and slept in his coat. I started crying because I felt so bad yet felt so loved and felt so lucky. All at once. He is amazing. He puts up with so much from dealing with my health all the time and never complains. I love him. My mom always jokes that I wouldn't survive without him. That statement is so true its almost scary. Thank you really isn't enough but, thank you Gabriel for being so amazing and for loving me.
The next morning we decided to burn that dang bag of mallows. Since I was feeling completely better we decided to head down to the river to let the dogs play while we did some fishing ourselves.

They were little fishes! We love our dogs. haha

So gorgeous.

no makeup.... but look how cute she is! Before we came home on Sunday we attended the Fish Lake Branch services. About 20 people total. But it was beautiful and awesome. We hung out and relaxed for a little bit before we packed up.
