Milk Can Make-Over

I have been wanting an old antique looking milk can for my front porch for a while now and all the ones I found to buy were SO EXPENSIVE! I was a little shocked that they were that pricey. When Gabe went to change the locks on his dads shop he found 2 and brought them home for me! I was pretty excited about it :) Thanks babe! I wish I would have taken a picture before we sanded them so you could see the whole transformation but just picture something like this.... but more rusted and worn.
...not quite my style ;)
So naturally I got on google and started looking for some ideas on how I wanted to do ours. I found these 2 pictures as my inspiration:

I enlisted the help of my cute husband and we started sanding them down..
then washed them really good,
primed them
and painted each the color I wanted!
The paint only took about an hour to dry-
which I appreciated since I was really anxious to get these finished!
Once the blue can was dry we dilluted some of the brown paint with paint thinner, lightly brushed it on, and then used a rag to wipe most of it off to give it a dirty/antique look.
We did the same thing with the brown can, only we used a creamy white color.
I am very happy with our end result!
What do you think?
